You said it was selfish and cruel to give birth. Like, if you are going to make a bad present you better not make a present at all. And what worse present than life? It’s ugly, it’s chaotic, and it is by no mean friendly. Furthermore, you cannot protect your child from anything, ever. You are completely helpless against fate. You cannot even know the outcome of your own actions. So why would anyone have a child?
Furthermore, you cannot protect your child from anything, ever. Your child would rely on you, but you are completely helpless against fate. The responsibility is too great and your capabilities are close to non-existent. And then the guilt if – when! – you fail… It’s just too much.
During the last few years, I thought a lot about what you said. I still don’t know if you are right or not. But at least now I understand you. I also thought about how there are two reasons for someone to create a family – either be madly in love or really want children. If both reasons are missing, then it is probably better to live alone.
